Serving Up Epic Volleyball Vibes for Adults

Created in the fall of 2024, Rio Star Athletics has quickly established a competitive adult volleyball program built on team work, structure, and a commitment to positive competition. Our teams consistently finish top 3 in local tournaments and leagues, a testament to the talent and dedication of our players and team facilitators.

Our teams compete in at least one tournament a month and have competed in NAGVA tournaments here in Dallas and San Antonio. Besides local play, we frequently organize travel opportunities for adult squads to compete beyond the Dallas area. Our immediate goals include qualifying a team for USAV Open Nationals and competing for the NAGVA championship.

Rio Star Athletics operates as a free, pay as you play, grassroots free-agent program rather than a traditional club. Player placement is a top priority matching athletes to teams based on skill and attitude to ensure competitive balance and an enjoyable experience for everyone. In addition to our own teams, we plan to host tournaments and leagues for other adult teams, offering multiple divisions to accommodate a range of abilities. Rostered athletes are primarily recent college players who want to continue competing in a structured, high-level environment but also include talented new-comers and Master’s level athletes.

Our program welcomes adult athletes at all levels. Whether you’re learning the sport, sharpening skills, or returning to competition; Rio Star provides a supportive environment to grow, compete, and meet teammates. Join a team today!

Team facilitators at Rio Star average 15 years of combined playing and coaching experience. All facilitators are former college athletes with deep knowledge of the game. We’ll also bring in guest coaches for specialized camps and clinics to broaden our athletes’ development.

Supporting athlete health and performance, our staff includes resident athletic trainer Zach Dixon, who treats clients at his Highland Village facility and will provide on-site hours once we secure our own gym. Learn more here!

What About Junior Club Volleyball?

We hear you loud and clear! We did some research and realized there is not a competitive program for junior volleyball in the immediate HEB area. We’re working on that.

Our plan is to offer camps and clinics regularly for kids of all levels but we will only offer club for 15-18s. This will be a unique, one of a kind club program designed for the top athletes in our area. As we grow our club offerings will also expand.

Stay tuned for more information! If you are interested in this for your child, please fill out a contact form so we can make sure you’re first to know as this program develops!

We also plan to host college showcases so that our local athletes get more looks by college coaches. Our program has an extensive network of D1, D2, D3, NAIA and Juco coaches that are always looking to fill needs. If this is not your child’s dream but they want to continue playing after high school, our adult program is the perfect spot for them.
